Product Description

1. Characteristics

Acidic silicone sealant is a one-component elastomeric adhesive and sealant formulated with silicone polymers, which exhibits excellent adhesion to a wide range of common construction materials such as glass, aluminum, ceramic tiles, and most rigid plastics; it cures at room temperature through a chemical reaction with atmospheric moisture, gradually transforming from a paste-like consistency into a flexible, rubbery solid that maintains its integrity across a broad temperature spectrum, typically from -40°C to 150°C. This type of sealant is widely utilized in both residential and commercial construction scenarios, including sealing the gaps between glass and window frames, bonding kitchen and bathroom fixtures to ceramic surfaces, and sealing joints in decorative glass installations; its application involves a straightforward process: first, the target surface must be thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, oil, grease, and any other contaminants that might compromise adhesion, then the sealant is extruded evenly from a cartridge using a caulking gun, ensuring full contact with both sides of the joint or gap, and finally, the applied sealant is smoothed with a tool (or a gloved finger) to achieve a neat finish and promote optimal bonding, with a full cure usually completed within 24 to 72 hours depending on environmental conditions like temperature and humidity.

2. Features

  • Strong Adhesion Performance: It forms reliable and long-lasting bonds with various non-porous and semi-porous materials without the need for additional primers, reducing construction complexity.
  • Excellent Weather Resistance: After curing, it can effectively resist ultraviolet radiation, rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations, maintaining its sealing and bonding properties without cracking or aging for a long time outdoors.
  • Good Elasticity: It retains excellent flexibility even after full curing, which can adapt to the thermal expansion and contraction of building materials or slight structural displacements, preventing the seal from failing due to material movement.
  • Fast Surface Curing: Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, its surface can cure quickly (usually within a few hours), reducing the risk of contamination during the construction process and shortening the subsequent construction cycle.
  • Waterproof and Mildew-Proof: It has excellent water impermeability, which can effectively block the penetration of water; in humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms, it also has a certain mildew-proof ability, keeping the sealed area clean and hygienic.

3. Applications

  • Architectural Glazing: Used for sealing the gaps between glass panels and aluminum profiles in curtain walls, glass doors, and windows, ensuring waterproofing and windproofing while enhancing the overall structural integrity.
  • Residential Interior Decoration: Applied in kitchen and bathroom renovations, such as sealing the joints between sinks and countertops, bathtubs and walls, and toilet bases and floors, preventing water leakage and mildew growth.
  • Decoration and Bonding: Used for bonding and sealing decorative materials like glass mosaics, mirrors, and decorative panels, providing both aesthetic appeal and structural stability.
  • Electrical and Electronic Sealing: Suitable for sealing the casings of small electrical appliances (such as refrigerators, air conditioners) and the gaps of electronic component enclosures, playing a role in dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof.
  • Automotive and Marine Industries: Used for sealing the gaps in automotive glass installation, ship deck joints, and other areas, leveraging its weather resistance and corrosion resistance to adapt to harsh operating environments.
  • DIY and Household Repairs: A versatile tool for household maintenance, such as repairing leaking windows, sealing cracks in ceramic tiles, or bonding loose household items, offering a convenient and effective solution for minor repairs.
